Schmid The surely most well-known bridge at the southern ramp of the Lötschberg is the Bietsch valley viaduct between Hohtenn and Ausserberg. The railway line, crossing the Bietsch valley here, dissapears immedially behind the bridge ends within the tunnel. There is a hiking trail along this railway line, so that the bridge can be reached on foot.
