Shipping over the Titisee

At the east side of the Höllental line, you can find the Titisee. The river Gutach, coming out from this lake, does not run down the Höllental to Freiburg, but is directed to south east and, now named Wutach, flows into the Rhine near Waldshut.
There are only electric boats and such which are driven by manpower on the Titisee. At the following pictures, you can see the lake from different points of view. Additionally, you can find the boats in BAHNLAND format at the vehicle download page under "boats from the Titisee".

The pictures above were made from the promenade with view over the lake. When I made the pictures below, I was on deck of the electric boat "Carola" which is seen from the side at the top of this page. The battery of the boat has a weight of 5 tons and delivers electricity for one day. It will be completely recharged in the night.

At the last picture, the branch line from Titisee to Seebrugg with stop at Feldberg-Bärental is passing behind the shore in the background. The line Freiburg - Titisee - Seebrugg was originally electrified with 25 KV, 50 Hz and switched to 15 KV, 16,7 Hz in 1960.
