"Schiefe Ebene" (inclined plane) near Marktschorgast


In the 1970s, the "Schiefe Ebene" between Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg and Marktschorgast as a part of the line from Bamberg to Hof was the last hideaway of the fast train steam engines from the series 01. The picture above shows the double tracked ramp between Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg and Schwärzhof in September 2006, with very much weed.

The line mostly is surrounded by wood. But a short distance away from the photo location above, the line could be photographed over a cornfield, framed by two single buildings.

Behind Marktschorgast
Directly behind Marktschorgast (towards Münchberg and Hof), the line is now single tracked and makes two curves of 180°. But this can't be seen at the BahnLand scenario (the distance between the photo locations of both pictures below is only some few meters).
